Pompeii - E.S. Posthumus’ onset of terror
E.S. Posthumus combine orchestral music with modern electronic sounds to create some fantastic songs. Pompeii could tell the tale of the eruption of Mount Vesuvius and subsequent panic & struggle; it is a truly terrifying song, and builds up the ‘threat level’ throughout. The combination of classical and modern-day drum beats presents what E.S. Posthumus is all about: the Pythagorean idea that “music is the harmonisation of opposites; the conciliation of warring elements”.
